We hear Jesus’ words in the Gospels that He thirsts.  And what does He thirst for? 

And we prepare even now for the Lord to come into our hearts in a deeper way.  We prepare our hearts.  Cleanse them.  Make room within them so that God can dwell within them more fully.

"Is it not enough for you to weary men, must you also weary my God?  Therefore, the Lord himself will give you this sign:  The virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.”

And there are ample opportunities to strengthen this virtue, not only in this season, but really in daily life throughout the year. And all you need to do is look around us.

May each one of us be like John the Baptist during this season.
